Why Should You Try Yoga Nidra?

Yoga Nidra can stop negative recurring thought patterns, bring you into the present moment, and help you sleep more deeply.  A regular Yoga Nidra practice can produce long-lasting benefits such as a reduction in anxiety and depression. It has been proven to be more beneficial than meditation alone.*

I first heard about Yoga Nidra from Judith Fager, PhD, PMHNP-BC. She suggested it to me as a great way to enhance my sleep. With the current pandemic, worries about my children's schooling and a full-time job I really needed something to ensure I was getting adequate rest so I could bring my full self to all of my demanding life situations.

Where I've found the most value from Yoga Nidra is by performing it at the end of a long work week. It really helps me to decompress so I can enjoy my time off each weekend. Below is one of my favorite Yoga Nidra videos that you can do from the comfort of your own home. Just don't forget to wear something comfy cozy to prevent distractions.

We call them sensory friendly, as we've worked hard to remove all the common points of discomfort that can originate from seams, waist bands, and fabric quality.
